Help New Orleans - Katrina Recovery
April 2008 - New Orleans is growing in population. The music and culture are evident everywhere we go. What many do not know is that about 1/2 of the city was not affected at all. Those that lived near the river, where the land was built up by the river only had cope with bad smelling refrigerators. Families are moving back into their homes. Some people will never be able to come back, and for them we feel profoundly sad.
All 8 of the homes on my side of the street, 1938 "California Cottages" have been restored. Across the street only 1 of the 7 homes was restored, the rest were torn down. Therein lies the story. Much to be done. We thank all the people from all over the country and world that have come to help us. Your help is invaluable. The love that you bring has helped all of us.
